April Fools

Blog #42 The weather is starting to improve. Sunny and close to 60 degrees. Meegan said it yesterday on our walk, “This spring we are really going to notice it from start to finish.” Spring has historically been a busy time for us with our kids sports and work always has been very busy at this time of year. There has always been a lot of prep work for our annual Derby Party which we co-host with our friends, the DeMovellans. He is originally from Kentucky and knows his bourbon. This year the Derby has been moved to Labor Day weekend so we have a little more time to get ready. This spring was bound to be quieter now that we are (were) empty nesters. But with Lyda and Josie home our spring has gotten that much better. Usually by this time of April the Tigers are already out of contention and it gets pretty easy to get Tiger game tickets. Normally I would start to pay attention to hockey as the NHL playoffs are something I have really started to love. There start to be a lot of running races on spring weekends which I enjoy. But the best thing about spring is the days are longer. And this year, the longer days are even longer. Things are staring to bloom now and within a couple of weeks the trees will have leaves. Restrictions in Michigan are starting to be loosened. Businesses will be starting to open up, slowly at first. There will still be some cold days but summer will be here before we know it. Summer always goes way too fast. So we’ll enjoy the spring changes as they occur and take each day as it comes.

Quote of the Day: “Where flowers bloom so does hope.” Lady Bird Johnson
